MANTIS is an alien 3D dance piece inspired by the surrealist poetics of artist Salvador Dali and the aesthetics of the Praying Mantis insect, both in its body morphology and in the mechanics and dynamics of its movements. The creation was carried out based on research into the mixture of dance language with animation and 3D simulation techniques.
MANTIS was created by artist Diego Mac, who has stood out at the forefront of contemporary art by dedicating himself to research and fusing the language of dance with animation and 3D simulation techniques, in addition to exploring the possibilities of NFTs, blockchains and metaverses. With an audacious vision, Diego Mac seeks to break the traditional boundaries of visual and performing arts, uniting the movement of the body with the infinite possibilities provided by the digital environment. His expertise in creating immersive choreography, combined with advanced digital techniques, results in unique and impactful works of art.
The first edition of CONTINUUM is set to take place during GM Barcelona! from September 27-29, 2023.
The digital art exhibit will showcase a selection of curated pieces from artists who will be given the task of creating an original piece inspired by the life and work of Salvador Dalí.
Encouraging diversity in interpretations while maintaining a connection to the original artist is a crucial aspect of the exhibit concept. This approach ensures that the new artworks created by emerging artists both pay homage to the legendary artist and also reflect the individuality and creativity of each participant.
