The main game character, Material World Knight, completes quests and battles enemies together with other characters drawn from the artist’s earlier works, while undergoing multiple identity transformations as the game moves beyond tropes of popular manga culture to explore the control of identity liberated from the rigid confines of nationality, gender, and sexuality.
