SUNSPRING, the first film written by AI, is an avant-garde experimental film from 2016 that is best described as a surreal, dystopian, and cryptic exploration of humanity's relationship with technology. Created for the 2016 Sci-Fi London 48-Hour Film Challenge, SUNSPRING was written, shot, and edited in only two days. The film was conceived by Ross Goodwin and Oscar Sharp, directed by Oscar Sharp, and stars Thomas Middleditch, Humphrey Ker, and Elisabeth Gray.

Since AI (trained by Ross Goodwin, who is credited as "writer of writer") wrote the screenplay in its entirety, the plot remains a matter for speculation. However, the film seems to take place in a futuristic world where technology has taken over, and humans seem to have lost the ability to communicate effectively. The setting is a desolate, post-apocalyptic cityscape, where the characters seem to be struggling to survive in a world that has left them behind.

The story follows three characters, all of whom seem to be searching for something in this bleak and confusing world. The dialogue in the film is entirely generated by an artificial intelligence program, which adds to the surreal and disorienting atmosphere of the film. The visuals of the film are striking and otherworldly, with the camera often focusing on mundane objects or zooming in on the characters' faces in extreme close-up. The film's color palette is muted and desaturated, adding to the overall sense of desolation and hopelessness.

Despite its surreal and experimental nature, SUNSPRING is a thought-provoking and engaging film that challenges viewers to think deeply about the role of technology in our lives and the potential consequences of relying too heavily upon it.
