This piece depicts a calendar of sorts inspired by pre-Columbian art. Drawing upon Aztec culture, Time Stones not only captures an ancient practice, but also a unique relationship to time. This mesmerizing artwork explores the concept of how a specific culture perceives time, inviting the viewer to contemplate our conventional understanding and use of time-telling tools. Time Stones presents time as both an arbitrary and cultural concept. It reminds us that beyond traditions and visual identity, cultures can also differ in fundamental ways that change one’s perception of the world around them.
Non-Fungible Castle 2022 explores how blockchain technology can be used to rediscover, share, and preserve our cultural identities. The exhibition created and exhibited NFTs to represent different artistic forms of expression, serving as a permanent cultural record and fostered a platform to discuss how the art world can use blockchain technology to celebrate our heritage, build a community of cultural stewards, and encourage storytelling to reconnect with our cultural roots.
