AIMILIOS METAXAS

Aimilios Metaxas (b. 1999, Athens, Greece) is a multidisciplinary artist living and working between London and Athens.

Born in Athens, a city that has long served as a cultural bridge between East and West, Metaxas draws deeply from this duality, integrating themes of mythology, history, and identity into his practice. His early mentorship with a visual development artist from Pixar and Walt Disney Studios introduced him to the power of storytelling through imagery, an influence that continues to inform his approach to composition, movement, and narrative in his work.

Metaxas went on to earn a BA from NABA: Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti on scholarship before completing his Master’s degree in Painting at the Royal College of Art, London, in 2023. Shortly after, a debut solo exhibition ensued, where he explored the intersection of art and experience, expanding the ways in which art can be perceived and engaged with. He has since exhibited globally in major galleries, museums, hotels, and art fairs.

His work merges diverse time periods, artistic styles, and subject matter, illustrating a belief that fantasy, psychology, and history are intrinsically interconnected. Through a layered approach, Metaxas challenges conventional narratives, offering a vision of art as a dynamic and immersive experience.
