Julia Wheatley’s creative process begins with an exploration of paper, crafting collages—often in a notebook—using mixed media to develop compositional studies for paintings. Embracing the concept of life as a collage, her work seeks to illustrate the unique life story of each individual while highlighting the significance of shared narratives and the richness that community brings to the human experience. With a background in Industrial Design and over a decade of experience as a professional model, Wheatley draws inspiration from an unconventional path, where unexpected elements blend like a kaleidoscope of colors and shapes, ultimately weaving into a distinctive and curious life story. Born in the United States and currently based on the East Coast, Wheatley earned a BFA Summa Cum Laude from the Savannah College of Art and Design. Her work has been exhibited in galleries worldwide, both digitally and physically.
