Nemo was the ugly duckling from a spring breed of runner ducks. He couldn't walk, only hop on one leg, so our adopted grandmother took him in and he spent a glorious half a year with her, sleeping on the couch or next to her, always in hands, and always coming along wherever she went. He was always little, and only developed his feathers late. Babysitting him one day I wanted to capture this special little creature, that we got to know all too short in the end. I'm glad I did.
